Finally, the much publicized “PlayStation Spot” is now available for use in Japan – to be precise, on the sixth floor of Sony Building in Ginza, Tokyo. The “PlayStation Spot” is essentially a PSP kiosk where demo versions of PSP games can be downloaded for testing using the PSP’s “game sharing” function via wireless LAN. As of October 8, 2005, only PSP with firmware version 2.0 can utilize the “PlayStation Spot” and the kiosk can support up to eight PSP simultaneously.

To complement its launch, PSP users can download demos of

The “PlayStation Spot” is indeed a welcome addition to the PSP family. However, at this point, the kiosk is a Japan only addition. Perhaps, Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc will recognize the marketing potential of the “PlayStation Spot” and PSP users in the States would see the kiosk in person at SonyStyle stores or designated electronics related stores soon.
