VAIO Pocket Battery Problem & High Pitch Noise

Question

Hi, I've been reading this forum this weekend, and it's the best so far. Thanks for I wish I saw this forum before I bought my vaio pocket (3 months ago) since I was only relying on siliconpop's and cnet's review. I hope this is the right thread for my problem.

Recently I saw someone posted a problem with the battery. My battery would run out in couple of days eventhought the device is completely turned off. Also, when the device is completely turned off, I can hear a high pitch noise coming out. I'm suspecting that the hard drive is keep running. After the battery drains out, I have to set everything again (time, date, etc.) I contacted Sony thru live chat and they told me that they never come across this issue with VGF-AP1L before. They also told me to contact the nearest Sony repair centers. Anybody knows where's the nearest Sony repair centers for zip code 12603 in NY? I'd prefer Sony's own certified technician to check my vaio pocket, instead of any stores that are certified to fix Sony's products.

Anybody is having this problem too and how to resolve this problem? Thanks for the info!

Welcome to the forum!

I have to move your post to its own thread since it's a technical related problem. This is definitely not a common issue. Please initiate repair service immediately. To initiate repair service, please review Sony's Service and Repair Locator and Request site.

Thx for your quick reply Ishiyoshi!

I read on Sony's website that the battery will drain out even when the device is off since it'll be used for maintaing my settings. It's also confirmed by Max Spider X.

About the high pitch noise, I think I can live with it. It's only noticeable when you put the vaio right on your ear. Plus with the price I paid for the vaio, paying the shipping cost wont be worth it then after that I've to wait and hopefully I wont be charged for parts/labor even when it's still under full warranty. With those reasons, I'll just gonna ignore the noise hopefully nothing wrong with the device in the future. Again thx for your help Ishiyoshi and Max Spider X. Please let me know if somebody else is having the noise problem and what did you do to resolve it.
