I fixed the disc lock problem myself... well, it's not really fixed...What I did was physically forced the disc open, and spent some time with strong glasses, to try to figure what was going on... I figured I had nothing to lose, if I broke it, it's not worth anything anyway, except to me, so I dug into it...There's a tiny metal tab that I push in with a mini screwdriver, to pop the disc out. Then after I pop it back in, I push the tab in again, and it reads the disc and allows the unit to function...Well, you may ask "what do I care what this guy does with his 8 year old minidisc multitracker"? Well the answer is, I from the generation that tries to fix things and, more importantly, I'm used to things being built to last a long time, and none of this extended warranty %#&* and throw away electronics. &*#% Yamaha!
