Ishiyoshi
Welcome to ALC!You can certainly copy Mp3s into the "x:\PSP\MUSIC" folder. However, with ATRAC files, you will need to use SonicStage 3.2 to facilitate the transfer. In addition, ensure your PSP have at least firmware 2.0 installed to utilize ATRAC3plus tunes. Ishiyoshi
In that case, it appears that the root of the problem lies with the PC you employed. For starters, please state your system specs and we will try and help.*topic moved to "Software" section

Ishiyoshi
Your system specs seems ok. With this system, are you able to connect your PSP to the PC via USB and facilitate simple non music file transfer?

First, try a PC diagnostic test and if you can't discern any problem, I would suggest reinstalling WinXP. I am sorry I can't be of much help. Perhaps, someone else can offer some other alternatives. D-Wade
should i buy a new usb?i got this from the other site"Thanks everyone for the help that you gave to me.I finally found what caused the problem after I rang up to PSP technical support center yesterday. It is the hardware problem, USB cable, although the connection is fine through the cable, but that PSP usage USB cable cannot transfer data correctly (the professional said that is the design problem for the cable).Once I tried to change the USB cable, the problem solved!!! (curse that cable~~~)Well, finally I can store the files in my PSP, I am happy about that.Thank you guysCathy" Edited October 17, 2005 by D-Wade
Ishiyoshi
It's plausible that the USB cable or even the USB connector of your PC could be faulty. But you'd mentioned that you could transfer picture related files with your current setup. It's strange that the USB cable or connector would be selective on file types. Well, there’s no harm trying a new USB setup. Good luck.
Christopher
Welcome, D-Wade.Employing a USB hub may also cause this issue. If neither of those options work out, try reinstalling Sonicstage via the directions in the FAQ.
