Recording Problems With Sony Mz-r35

I have installed a Sony MZ-R35 Minidisc recorder in to a Pass Report It! docking station.

Everything seems to work fine except when live recording using a mic. Whenever there is a pause from the speaker a new track is created when speaking resumes.

I have turned off the Sync function but this has no effect.

Any Ideas?
