lobby
I heard about a ridiculous limitation and I wanted to see if it is true before I buy a Hi-MD minidisc recorder:I record from a breakout box through the optical-out into the optical-in of my minidisc player in order to capture live shows. I currently go from the minidisc back to my computer (if something is worth keeping) via a regular cable. Ideally, I'd like to buy a new minidisc recorder with Hi-MD and never leave the digital domain. However, my friend told me that anything recorded through the optical-in cannot be exported through USB back to the computer! Is this ridiculous rumor true? Could sony be so retardedly concerned about piracy that they would cripple their products like this?
dex Otaku
Yes, you can upload optical recordings. SS doesn't permit converting them to WAV, but HiMDRenderer does, so you can still do all-digital transfers.
