Yeah, there's a little degradation, but it's surprisingly good. Sounds like a better (less-compressed) FM station.And as I write this, it's still $9.99 with free shipping. Are there any car manufacturers that don't include at the very least an AM/FM radio, if not cassette and/or CD player any more? To the best of my knowledge, at least in North America, basically every car has come with a radio since some time in the 1960s or earlier.If your car doesn't have a radio - try the junkyard. I may try that - i do not bother to put a brand new tuner in since the last two got stolen and the car itself gets stolen once in every few years. SimonMackay Posted April 19, 2005 Report Share Posted April 19, 2005 Hi all!Another suggestion would be to use a cheap low-power car amplifier and some cheap speakers such as those from a wreck. The low-power car amplifier could be one of those old car "power boosters" sold during the late 70s to early 80s.Power the amplifier from the car's switched radio circuit. You may want to add an extra switch between the radio circuit and the amplifier's power input -- this could be obtained from a wreck of the same make and model as your car and filled in to a space in the dashboard. Wire the speakers from the amplifier's speaker output and connect the MD Walkman to the input terminals on the amplifier.
