VAIO Pocket Operation Buttons/Icons Query

Question

Well after much ooing and ahing over whether to go for the iPod or the VAIO Pocket I finally took delivery of my VP 2 weeks ago. :ol_biggrin:

Having upgraded all the firmware and PC software I think I'm all up-to-date and everything is working even better than I'd hoped. :ol_shocked:

One small question though (and I'm putting it in here as the thread title is at least connected, but I'm surfing at work and don't have any more time to search now :ol_devil: ).....

Does anyone know what the new icon is that's shown on the right menu when playing a track? It's directly above the 'EQ' icon and looks like an open book with a single note on the left page. I've tried playing with it but can't seem to suss what it does.... :ol_sly:

Thanks in advance! MrD.

Welcome to ALC!

That's little icon above the EQ icon is the VAIO Pocket's "lyric" feature.

Welcome to ALC!

So "lyric" as in words for songs..? So I can associate lyrics (text) with my different tracks, just as I can album covers..?

Any clues on how to use this then? (I feel a really strong urge to add some really bad Karaoke tunes now!) :ol_devil:

Yes, indeed: lyrics as in words of the song in question. To enable this feature, you will need to utilize SonicStage 3.2. Please follow the instructions outlined below:

1) Go to Options and Items in the "Track Properties" Dialog Box (Device/Media)

2) "Lyrics/Liner Notes" tab

--> Lyrics: Used to view the lyrics (if any are attached to the track). If no lyrics are attached to the track, you can add them. To enter lyrics, click "Text." To select an image, click "Image." You can click "Browse" to specify a file (text or image) in the dialog box that appears.

--> Liner notes: Used to view the liner notes attached to the track (if any are attached to the track). If no liner notes are attached to the track, they can be input here.
