telpearce
I am getting a new additional hard-drive to hold my SonicStage (2.1) library and have asked Sony Support if I need to backup my current library.Sony Support have told me that I not only need to backup my library BUT will also need to reinstall SonicStage on my new hard-drive ("D") because the program needs to be on the same physical hard-drive as the music library.Does this sound right ? Sorry if it's already been answered but I've not found this "feature" mentioned before. Many thanksTerry
Christopher
Welcome to the forum. This sounds about right - I believe there is a way you can alter something within the registry to point the library location on a different hard drive but I'm not up to speed on such. The current backup utility isn't that bad either - perhaps you should upgrade to Sonicstage 3.1 on that old hard drive first, use the backup utility with that and then install Sonicstage 3.1 on the new hard drive and import the library. Phew. ;P
telpearce
Many thanks for your comments..I did as Sony told me and everything worked perfectly. I must admit I was scared having read some of the comments from people who've had a bad experience.I've had no problems with SonicStage 2.1 yet which is why I've not yet updated - I'm a coward !!
