Ss 3.1 Upload Errors, Do You Have Them?

When uploading live recordings into SS 3.1 from my RH10 I will occasionaly get (5% of the time) a track that was not uploaded with an error message (some internal error). 50% of the time if I try to import it again it works and the other 50% of the time I have to quit SS, remove USB cable, eject disk, re-insert disk, and then upload that track.

Out of ~15 live concerts recorded (over 300 tracks) they all in the end uploaded fine, but some needed mulitiple attempts.

Anybody else having this problem? Anyone know why?

Great, I guess i am the only one with this problem. I have a brand new Dell which I bought specifically for my Minidisc (dedicated Mac user). So, i don't think it is the computer.

Anyway, a little update on this not so serious but annoying problem.

I had a track fail to import the other day. Tried everything, ejecting disc, quitting SS, restarting computer, but still, the track would error.

It would play fine when the MD was disconnected from the computer, but it would error if I tried to play it connected to the computer (via SS).

So I used the MD to cut the ~15 min track into 5 separate 3 minute tracks and imported again. It worked fine this time.

l can't believe I am the only one with this problem.

Hi

Yes i too have errors occuring on upload of non-digital Hi MD recordings

It occurs when i amend the tracks on the MZ-NH1 prior to uploading

i have succesfully uploaded tracks which had no track marks and also those which had auto track marks every five minutes but on both occiasions when i uploaded

MD 74's which i had recorded at 256KB at3+ then edited the track marks to identify end of recorded music tracks i have had OMIGOSH.exe ( Joke) errors and Soundstage 3.1 has abended whereas when i have uploaded unedited MD74 recordings without track editing on the recorder there have been zero errors.

Any one else experiencing these type of problems? or any suggestions for prevention of same, help for a neube appreciated.

System spec-

Dell dimension 8400 Intel pentium 3.2GHz 1G Ram 160Gb Hd USB2

Widows xp home sp2 sophos anti virus, Kerio firewall, MS spyware

NTL broadband usb cable

Initialy installed SS2.0 from disk, updated with SS3.1 (english) from Asia

uninstalled as per directions, attempted to use the forum SS3.1 Installer but kept stopping when updating Windows media player, so down loaded European version of SS3.1 from Sony successfully

Thanks

I missed seeing this topic and just posted about this exact problem with my RH10. The problem occurs when you edit the tracks so that they are combined. As long as there is only one directory entry for a track, SS uploads it fine. Would you report this problem to Sony Support. I did and they seemed to think it was not happening to others. Maybe a few more complaints will get them to look at it.

My errors occur when no editing is performed on the unit. Splitting tracks up helps the situation.

me too,

i'm trying to transfer a 256-hi-md format track from my mz-nh900 now.

there are 2 tracks on this 1gig disc. 1st one is about 40minutes long

(my feature-performance) the 2nd track is another 1.5 hours (follow-up acts)

1st track went fine. 2nd gives"internal error"

it'll get to 31% and crap out.

same with playing with SS3.1... i havent tried yet on it's own but wil do so.

havent tried the unplug/reboot/eject etc tricks yet either.

the same thing happens on home and work pc's both are higher end machines.(CADD Station/ gaming&MM machine)
