will177
HiI am trying to get some tech info but did not know where to ask. This forum seemed the closest match and hopefully someone can point me in the rightdirection. Apologies if this post is way out of place. In short, I have just bought a Sony NW-E99 network walkman player and it is great but I think it might have a fault. When I play ATRAC3 or ATRAC3+ or MP3songs on it, the tempo is just ever so slightly too fast. I compared it by playinga CD in my Hi Fi CD player whilst listening to the same track on the walkman.I synchronize them but after about 30-40 seconds synchronization starts to driftand the E99 player leads the way, so it must have a slightly faster tempo.I haved tried this with MP3 files too (128kbps CBR) ripped using both Sonic Stageand LAME. It also does this with ATRAC files ripped with SS. Is this normal or a fault? Should I expect perfect tempo even? Finally, if I play back the ATRAC file using the PC that ripped it, the tempois fine, and stays in synch with the CD player on my Hi Fi. So it sounds like there may be a fault with the decoder (or clock) on my NW-E99 player. Can anyone give my any advice about this issue?Any help much appreciated.Thank you in advance.
