Question

Hi All,

Few months back I bought Sony's Network Walkman NW-HD3 from Thailand, Bangkok. I installed the s/w there and was able to transfer tracks from my PC to the walkman. It required internet connection when I started the Sonic Stage s/w after the installation.

Now, I'm back to my home country, India, and now when I try to run the Sonic Stage it asks for the internet connection first and gives me an error message that:

***************

Non-U.S. Access

It appears that your computer is currently accessing Connect from outside the United States. Due to licensing restrictions, music on Connect is not available for download from outside the United States.

***************

Isn't it possible to use my walkman anymore for transfering music files from my computer to the walkman.

Please help, as I don't know what to do now?

Thank You,

Saurabh.

Hello,

I have the exact same problem. I bought a Sony Network Walkman 'NW-HD1' from the U.S and i currently reside in Canada. It asks me to authorize my device and i get the exact same message:

***************

Non-U.S. Access

It appears that your computer is currently accessing Connect from outside the United States. Due to licensing restrictions, music on Connect is not available for download from outside the United States.

I have version Sonicstage 3.3. I tried downloading version 3.2 but it automatically updated to 3.3. And 3.3 is only for U.S residents. I want 3.2 but it seems that when ever i download it it continues to update.

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP.

looking forward to your reply,

Vinujan

Hi All,

Abhinav thank you for the reply, but that clicked me too in the begening, changing the installation region, but it didn't help me at all.

In a following way I have managed to resolve the problem.

Install some proxy s/w to change the proxy settings of the systems on which Sonic Stage s/w is installed, and gave it a arbitarry U.S based I.P address. Now when I connect to internet, it works fine for me.

Now there's something I'm worry about, I found that it authorizes my PC and also my NW-HD3 walkman via some code initialization mechanism. Means that it won't be possible for me to import/export my tracks on some different PC, don't know how to deal with this complex music listening mechanism, never thought that listening to your favorite music could such be an cumbersome task all together :-(

Anyways, I have already registered 5 PC using this criteria, what about the 6th PC? Rather considering a case where I cannot access all of the registered PC or they get formatted without unregistering Sonic from them, what would be a solution in that case.

I'm currently using Sonic Stage 2.3 with connect into it.

I'm downloading Sonic Stage 3.2(without connect), let's see how I can play with that.

Thank You,

Saurabh.
