elpedro Posted June 5, 2005 Report Share Posted June 5, 2005 Just checking to see if there is any interest in doing something like this. I think it would be nice to a Line In and DC In. From what I have seen all ppl would need is the dc plug and audio port and some minor soldering and wires. The Nh600d has the holes for the ports and the board has the provisions for it. I thinking the function for an audio in and dc in are just turned off and and can get toggled on via the service menu but I have no clue how to translate the service menu right now (need to do more research). If anyone has any information on how do the upgrade or has done it or is willing to help figure stuff out, just drop a line.Thanks everyone and anyone! Find a drill bit that is a tad bigger than the port so it can stick out. The major part will be getting any use out of the ports after you attach them, which is where the service mode comes in. Is there a service manual and shots (front and back) of the nh600 board out anywhere or can some one take a photo of the front and back of their nh600. Cause even voltage regulators and other parts I can buy from my electronic store and install. Though I think the software side of this upgrade is not even there, missing the lines of code for the rec function (still verifying).Attached is the back side of the main board if anyone wants to see. for the audio in, the wiring goes to a dead but I believe that justneeds to get connected to another point on the board.[attachmentid=353] Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I find modding out electronics to be fun so if I can do it with my nh600d then I will.... though if I fuck it I won't have an md for a while ... jadeclaw Posted June 10, 2005 Report Share Posted June 10, 2005 The A/D-Converter might be available as a sample from Asahi Kasei,but getting the voltage regulator might pose a problem.Plus, how do you want to solder the part in?You need special tools for that, costing in excess of thousand dollar.There is no way to solder in a Ball Grid Array with a conventional soldering iron.Just ask someone, who services cell phones down to chip level,as these contain similar parts and he will confirm that.Do yourself a favor - Get a NHF800 and be happy.It is far less hassle and much cheaper.
