Hi

Ok i just treated myself to a sony HD3 but since this software im kind of regreting it!!

Its like it has a mind of its own im not sure whats happening when i import my albums.

Ok the 1st 2 albums i imported it did fine the 1st Akon poped up showing as an album not a seperate singles, the next album Basment Jaxx which was 2 cds both in different did the same it popped both cds into one folder which is ok but it would be better if it seperated them into two different folders so i can clearly see whats what.

Now for my third album which is a double and each cd is in a folder called CD1 and CD2 which are within another folder called big tunes, all it does is imports the songs but doesnt put them in one folder like previously it puts them in a big list which is really annoying.

Does anyone know what is happening why its organising some ok but not other albums?

If you dont know what i mean heres an example,

Album-----------------Artist-----------------Genre

The Singles-----------Basmentjaxx--------Dance

Trouble----------------Akon-----------------R&B

BigTunes 2 CD1------Cabin Crew----------Dance

BigTunes 2 CD1------Studio B--------------Dance

BigTunes 2 CD1------Soul Central---------Dance

BigTunes 2 CD1------Uniting Nations------Dance

etc

etc

etc

Please help

Thanks

Welcome to MDCF, daymouse!

In SonicStage Ver.3.0 or later, the albums in My Library are automatically sorted based on the artist name and album name registered to each track. Thus, the structure of the albums stored in My Library changed accordingly. If the album name registered to a track was "A," it may be sorted into a new album for all tracks with an album name of "A."

You can rectify your predicament easily, however, in a tedious way. Assuming the double CD set you have is called "A," you will need to manually set the album title of those tracks in question to "A." By default, SonicStage 3.1 organize your music by Artist, hence the chaotic breakdown of your imported compilation CD.

One of our knowlegable member, jadeclaw has provided a thorough fix to this so-called problem in another similar thread. To quote jadeclaw:

The solution is simple.

The source column in previous Versions is now the Album column.

You have to sort your library again by finding the tracks back and entering the Album name into the Album field.

SonicStage then creates an Album with the same name and moves the tracks into that Album.

The Album itself is dropped into the group containing all other albums of the same artist.

Another thing: When moving multiple files that way, remember not to touch the Title field in that dialogue, not even clicking into it.

When importing MP3-files, make sure that all fields in the ID3-Tag contain the correct information.

Then of course the MP3-files are sorted into the correct Albums.

The following fields must be set:

Title

Artist

Album

Genre

Track#

Normally, when reading a CD, these fields are correctly set, thanks to CDDB,

but on downloaded or self ripped MP3s, this is often not the case.

Result: Chaos after import.

Note: If both ID3-tag versions are present (V1 and V2) Version 2 is used.
