Having had so many problems with the connect player software i decided to do a format of the hard drive.Having spend a day and a half doing that to get a full system setup with all my programs on and then doing a ghost image just to be on the safe side.I decided to put connect back on and update it at the same time.I imported all my albums from my hard drive all that went slowly but smoothly.I connected my first a1000 to it i renamed it to my sons name and transfered the albums that he wanted.I then connected my other sons player up renamed that one and transfered his albums up to it.All fine so far.I then closed down the connect player and then later tried to reopen it back up.Thats where my problems are starting again it has just hung at the splash screen.I rebooted the computer and have tried it again as of yet it is staying at the splash screen for the last 15mins.

And i so thought that i had it sorted.

Oh well.

At least they have some music to listen to on christmas morning.

Comp spec is AMD64 3500 1gig ram 320gig sata hard drive,i think that the computer is well in spec.

I did read somewhere that sony will be releasing a update on the 25th Nov due to the speed complaints of the software

I've got exactly the same problem. Impossible to use CONNECT Player anymore, since it freezes on the splash screen for years! I event tried to wait a whole night (while I was sleeping of course), and in the morning still that ugly CONNECT player splash screen. I guess there was a crash during the tracks import, but well, it's hell ! impossible then to create a new clean library, or else... imagine you spent time to play rating your songs... and then bye bye beacause of a stupid bug...

So anyone has any ideo of how to fix this? (SONY takes time to answer... CONNECT store repiled that they were hard at work for the upcoming updates... well... as it is today, we 'd need one update per day...or even per hour!!!!).
