A friend gave me an mz-r700 a few weeks ago without a power adaptor. Wondering if one of those generic multiprong adaptors would work, and if so, if it would charge Energizer® rechargeable batteries (NiMH) I have.

Basically, can I ever plug this machine into an outlet without the super-special Sony®© adaptor? And if not, how easy/expensive will it be to purchase said adaptor?

Thanks

btw, the headphones as microphones trick rocks my little world...

Welcome to MDCF!

For AC Adaptor, you can either use Sony's AC-E30A Worldwide AC Power Adaptor (approx. $19.99) or a generic version from RadioShack to power the MZ-R700 and to charge its rechargeable battery.

Some info of the Sony AC-E30A: features a rated output of 3V DC, rated input of 100-240V AC, 50/60Hz and a maximum output current of 1000mA DC.

--> Buy.com retails the AC-E30A at $13.99.
