cooldeol
hey peoplethis is my first post ever, i was really encouraged to join this forum after i was totally unsuccessful in transferin even a single song to md player. i was really excited when i bought this player, but my expectations were broken completely when i kept on tryin but failed misserably. i jus bought this player 4 days ago, it had sonic stage 1.5 version wchich i upgraded to 3.1 as guided by sony support guy. i even contacted them but found no solution.i tried many different songs but i keep on getting the annoying message that "Cannot convert the specified track. SonicStage does not support the file format of the track." i got around 5 gb of songs on my PC's hardisc and all of them are either mp3 or wav format but still i cant even transfer a single song, my PC is P 4 and i'm using windows xp home edition i guess with service pack 2.i even tried real player, but i get the same message that format not supported.i also tried all the updates.please help me here, please suggest any alternatives. A440
What is the bitrate of the mp3's? If it is either very low (44-48 kbps) or variable (VBR) SonicStage has trouble with them. But that doesn't explain the .wav problem. If you want a workaround, burn the .wavs to a CD and then use SimpleBurner (from the Dowloads section above/Programs) to send them to the MD without SonicStage making an intermediate copy. cooldeol
thnx a lot buddy for ur rply, i guess thr is no problem wth the bit rate , they vary from 96 to 128 kbps for few of the songs which i checked and the bit rate doesnt actually fluctuates within a song and if i'm right thts wht VBR is. does the cd burnin technique works for any type of song format ? thnx once again. i'll be greatful if more suggestions are provided. Christopher
Reinstall via the directions in the FAQ and install Sonicstage 3.2 from the online installer in the Downloads section.
cooldeol
thnx buddy for ur rply, but i'm still unable to use sonic stage, its of no use for me. as suggested, i tried to transfer songs on a cd and then transferin them to MD player using MD Simple Burner, it worked perfectly fine for me. i guess i gotta use the cd method, but i would be happier if i directly transfer them.thnx buddies for ur suggestions
