niknak
Hi Was wondering if any of you have had the problem that ive got at the momentMy sony walkman(MZ-NH1) will no longer let me record onto hiMD even though i had no problems when i first got it. Problems started when something bumped the record button when it was in my bag and wiped all the music off the disc. When i use simple burner it tells me that it cannot continue cause files on disk are being used by another programme. No other programme is open and i tried to reboot my computer as well as reinstalling sonicstage and md simple burner. In sonicstage it tells me cannot continue as an audiodisc because it was initialized by a programme other as sonicstage. I tried to initalize it through sonic stage and made no difference and i tried formatting through the walkmanI have also used a brand new disc and i get the same messages and i havent wiped the HMDHIFI files from the minidisc. My old minidisc work fine with the programmes and in my recording settings ive made sure it records onto hiMD instead of just MD.Sooooo now im outta ideas, can anyone else suggest anything or is it time to dig out the warrantythanks
Christopher
Welcome to the forum. Format the disc via the formatting controls on the unit, if you're not sure how to do this just read your instruction manual.
ROMBUSTERS
In sonicstage it tells me cannot continue as an audiodisc because it was initialized by a programme other as sonicstage. I tried to initalize it through sonic stage and made no difference and i tried formatting through the walkman←it sounds like it may actually be a problem with the disc itself, have you try using other discs (both HiMD and legacy 60/74/80min discs?) Qwakrz
One thing I have noticed, sometimes if I plug in my Hi-MD and then start SS or SB my antivirus starts checking the Hi-MD disc. This locks out SS and SB saying the disc is in use (antivirus check) and I have to unplug & then plugin my MD with SS or SB open.It may be that you have something trying to read/write to the disc that you dont know about, I suggest trying what I do above and also doing a virus check on your PC (with an uptodate virus scanner). argasser
it sounds like it may actually be a problem with the disc itself, have you try using other discs (both HiMD and legacy 60/74/80min discs?)←So ... I'm having the same kindsa trouble as this user had.I have just updated to SS 3.2 (reinstalling Simple Burner), and the problem persists.Root of the problem is definitely with this DELL laptop, and not with the NH900, nor with the disc itself (I tried using brand new discs, and erasing them and everything). The software and the discs and the MD all work fine downstairs on the other computer (which is home-networked).DELL laptop Inspiron 5100, running XP Home; Service Pack 2; Intel Pentium 4 cpu 2.4 GHz, 2.39GHz, 512 MB of RAMSomething about the software installation on this computer is making it recognize the MD as an extra memory storage removable drive.Message in SS 3.2 (same as in 3.1) is a classic: "Cannot use this disc as an audio disc because it was intitialized by a program other than Sonic Stage. Click Properties on the Device/Media panel and initialize the disc to use it as an audio disc."This is a false solution, as the same disc, when I remove the Ultra Slow Bus, still has an irreplaceable recording of a concert I recorded on Monday, as well as a commercial CD.Anybody have a real solution? The one I use now is to abandon all Sonic Stage functions on this computer.
