NW-HD3 Freezing

I bought a NW-HD3 online to try to get it repaired. When I boot it on, it just shows the walkman screen then freezes... any idea what is wrong? I heard it is quite a common problem... I too the harddisc out and seems to be spinning... was gonna try to format it coz i can plug it into my tr1 but was gonna ask u guys if u know how to repair it

My HD3 had lock-up problems when switching on, the problem was intermittent but still annoying! I only had it for a month.

I sent the player to Sonys UK service center as they requested, they re-flashed the firmware and returned the unit back to me in perfect condition. I have had no problems since and have owned my HD3 for 8 months now. My unit is not in the serial No range with power problem, it just had a fault.
