PAD
I'm practising my new MD WALKMAN SONY MZ-NH700. I've put a MD 74mns in to test the microphone recording and the MZ didn't recognize it as a MD but as a HI-MD which it is definitely not and once out of the MZ all my other machines ( Sony MZ R30 and Sony MDS JE520 could read the MD identifying it as a HI-MD ! Any clue?
Christopher
Welcome to the forums. When you put any MD disc into a Hi-MD unit whilst it's in Hi-MD mode, it will think it's a Hi-MD disc, or MD disc formatted into Hi-MD mode. Please read your instruction manual on how to switch to MD mode.
Qwakrz
Yep, if the disc is blank the Hi-MD will automatically use it as a Hi-MD disc, unless you tell it otherwise. Remeber that if you want to copy your mic recordings off of the MD onto your PC you MUST record in Hi-MD mode.
