alskdjfhg
Hey guys,Will there every be new minidiscs that can hold more for NetMD players? and why can't NetMD players use the 1GB Hi-MDs? Sony should make a minidisc like that which can be supported for the NetMD which would surely make many people happy, or they should come up with 120-minute minidiscs because there are CD's that exist today that can hold 120-minutes. Breepee2
Nope. They don't have the hardware to understand HiMD's.There are no CD's that support 120 minutes, only some, non-red-book ones that indeed support more than 80.

alskdjfhg
I think you mean DVDs holding 120 minutes.←no there are CD-R's that hold 120 minutes and can hold 900MB, I was wondering whether Sony would do something like that for Minidiscs, because minidiscs used to be around 60 minutes and so were CDs when they first came out. ROMBUSTERS
ummmm.... no. There was a disc a while ago that could hold something like 1.1GB on a CD (developed by Phillips/Sony I think) but it never gained groundand it doesnt matter if they came out with a CD that holds 5GB nothing would be able to use it. redbook CD players (i.e. anything that has the Compact Disc logo) will ONLY play redbook CDs (or close enough hacks; see: copy protection)
Christopher
Extremely doubtful. I would upgrade to Hi-MD, perhaps a first generation unit as that interacts better with the older MD format.
