Now start

First, lets take the small screws which are attached to the bottom of the device (near sticker with the player's serial number). This should be done with the Phillips Screwdriver.

Next, at the top of the player, there is a flap which you need to open when connecting the device to your computer. Open this flap and look closely... you will find a small screw, take it out.

Open the battery cover. You can do this by placing the head of the screwdriver into the hole and pushing away from the devic

The battery cover is made up of two parts. A nice silver outer layer, and an internal white layer. At the top of the silver layer, push it outwards like so.. don't worry, it won't snap i swear!

Eventually, it will give way, and detach it's self from the white layer.

You can now see the bottom of the battery in the device. There is a little silver foil plastic type handle at the bottom of it. Place your screwdriver in the little hole.

Now, pull the battery right out.

Tuck the white layer of the battery cover back inside the case. This is needed to allow the device to slide out of its case.

Now it gets a little tricky. You are now ready to push the device out of its case. You now need to use your flat headed screwdriver. Carefully, push the top silver part of the device away from the aluminium casing. You will need to make lots of pushes at different spots of the device to ensure it slides out evenly. Do NOT slide the case out all the way yet! Only about half a centimetre!

Look on the right hand side of the device, you will find the slot which enables the use of a neckstrap. With the device about half a centimetre out, you should now be able to easily pull this out. You may need to adjust the distance the device is pulled out of the case to get it right.

Now, push the device out of the case. Just after the screen is fully out, you will think it's got stuck. Just give it quite a forcefull tug, and the connector for the buttons will slide out of it's home on the main bord.

REBULIDING

Please attach the case to your device again, and stop just before you reach the screen. Take the button's connector and place it flat against the main board like so..

post-3480-1116577996_thumb.jpg

Now, push the white section of the connector upwards so it goes inside the port. A little grey flap should erect towards you.

post-6144-1116654838_thumb.jpg

Once you have the connector in, close the flap back down. This locks the connector in place.

Next you need to push the case back down until you are left with about half a centimetre left out. You need to align the metal to attach the Neckstrap bit. Once that is in place, give the device one last push, you may hear a click as it slots into place.

To this..

Please now re-attach the silver part of the battery cover. This is done quite easily, i don't think i need to do a picture for that! Also, put the screws back in the three holes and insert the battery.
