SonicStage can't uninstall

Hi,

I don't find SS to be the worst program around in terms of usage, and when it works I am satisfied. I tend to convert all my mp3s to Atrac3 because it saves room and battery on my NWHD5. But twice now I have had a problem where it suddenly stopped being able to convert files from mp3 to atrac. I tried uninstalling SS, but this is where the problems began. I cannot uninstall SS, through Add/remove files. It gives me the following message:

Error Code: -5006 : 0x80070002

Error Information:

And says that I should check to see whether there are any other instances of unistall still going on etc. There are not. I have tried this countless times after restarting my computer etc.

I got so frustrated that I tried to uninstall the software through simply deleting the SS folder and the HKEY instances of it, as well in the docs and settings folder.

I really really have no idea how to uninstall this software and until I do, there is no way to either reinstall SS3.1 or install 3.2- it just tells me that the install has been "terminated". This happens automatically

Can anyone help? Last time this happened I solved it through a complete computer reboot, which was needed anyway. However within 3 weeks of this reboot, this useless program has done it again. i dont intend to reboot my comp this time.

If you are installing from Sony's online installer, try using the MDCF installer in Downloads instead. Disconnect from the internet and turn off any firewall or security programs before you do it. Don't forget to turn them on again afterward.
