Igor
So I bought the nwa3000, after hearing all the stuff about connect. It seems to be working fine for me, except this one problem:When I try to rip a cd into connect, after a video stored on the cd pops up and i close it, connect only recognises the cd as a "data cd", and will not rip the audio tracks. Is this one of those intrinsic bugs, or am I doing something wrong?Any help appreciated!/igor Edited December 17, 2005 by Igor
Guest Stuge
You will need to use a blank cd to mmake an audio cd from any software..Not a filled cd like you are using
Igor
I don't understand what you mean...I've been ripping my cd collection onto the pc using connect and when I get to this one (The Killers-Hot Fuss),when i put it into the cd drive, it automatically opens a video thats on the cd.Connect will then only recognise it as a "data cd" and not an "audio cd"From what you said, I should have made copies of all my cds and used those to rip into the pc? Guest Stuge
Some mistake i have made i was quoting that thing in the some other post!!!Sooory for that >>Your post suggest that you are trying to rip "Enhanced Cd" to connect ...For that you wiil need to upgrade your connect software...CONNECT Player Version 1.0.02.11170 *Manual installationBug for recognising "Enhanced Cd" as data cd has been solved in this update.. Igor
I have done all the updates and I have that version.I don't think it's an enhanced CD, it's just an audio cd with an extra video on it.Or is that what enhanced cd means? >.<Anyway, since I have that version, why doesn't it work? All I see on the right is " Data CD D:/" and not "Audio CD D:/". Is there a way of making it switch?

Igor
I see. Thanks for all your help! One last question though:Is it possible to use connect for most cds, and then SS for the enhanced ones?I mean, can SS transfer to the a3000 when connect has also been used? Guest Stuge
Igor,I think to use A3000 with Sonic Stage ver3.3 you will need to format your player ..((I not sure )..I will not suggest you to use "Connects" till it matures enough as it has many bugs in it .It is much Better to use Sonic Stage ver 3.3 as it is more stable & realible then "Connect"
mkennett
I have the same issue as IGOR, Enhanced CDs cause Sony CONNECT to report "Data" cd instead of Audio CD - I have already upgraded to "CONNECT Player Version 1.0.02.11170" and it does not seem to be resolved. The infuriating thing is that NERO and WM player can see the audio content - I have resorted to manually ripping the CD to Hard Drive using NERO, then importing the files to CONNECT Player - unfortunately it takes forever to rename all of the files. Does anyone have any suggestions to get round this DATA cd issue?
Guest Stuge
Some people have reported that Now "CONNECT Player 1.0.02.11180 released"You can see here CONNECT Player 1.0.02.11180 released
C_player
Indeed, the 11080 version does fix some enhanced CD recognition issues, but not all of them.If you have a "mixed mode" CD, that is a CD with both an audio and a data session on it, there is still a real possibility it won't work with the Connect player. My suggestion, and that of others here, is to use some other software to rip the songs from those CDs (SonicStage, EAC, etc.) into Atrac or MP3 format, then scan those songs in. It beats not being able to listen to the CD on your Walkman.
