This is my first post so please be patient. I have a Sony net md minidisc player (mz-ne410) which I bought in the US. I downloaded the latest version of Sonic Stage from the net. If I rip a CD to mp3 in SonicStage it will not allow me to transfer the files to my minidisc player. I get an error message "Transfers are not allowed". Is there a reason for this? Am I doing something wrong? It doesn't happen if I rip to oma files though. I would prefer mp3 rips because they are more usuable on other equipment.

I have uninstalled and redownloaded SonicStage and then reinstalled it to no avail.

Can anyone help please?

Hi, I´m Gustavo from Buenos Aires, Argentina. May be the CD you´re trying to import has some protection, but of course you don´t know.

Your problem is only with MP3´s, right?

If a file(mp3) carries a Copy protection (If there )then it can be checked through Sonic Stage ..

1.Open Sonic Stage.

2.Go to my library.

3.Right click on the file (whcin you want to check)..

4Click on Properties..Click on tab "Right Info/Additional info"

Here you can see any "Playback Restriction if files has ..

Also please tell if you rip (same cd) to Atrac do face same problem or not?

Thanks for the reply.

I get the following message when I go to properties etc. of an mp3 file I ripped using SonicStage.

Playback restrictions: None

No. of times played: 0times

No. of times transferred: 0times

Remaining transfer count: Unlimited

Remaining ATRAC CD transfer count: Unlimited

Remaining audio CD transfer count: Unlimited

I cannot convert the mp3s to atrac in SonicStage either.

I do not have the same issue when I rip in atrac format. The ripped files transfer to the netmd player.

Try to reinstall Sonic Stage ver3.3 from "Atraclife" Downloads because there is some problem with your Sonic Stage ver3.3 (Culprit here is )...

Also delete Registry before installing the fresh one

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Corporation

THEN TELL ME WHETHER YOUR PROBLEM Solves or not

Thanks again

I have followed your instructions and I am now able to transfer mp3 files ripped by SonicStage to my netmd player. My next test is to rip mp3s using audiograbber.

When I rip CDs in audiograbber is it important to mark the file as original?
