chris_caudy
Hi guys, I'm having problems burning ordinary audio CDs from SS 3.3 on a Medion laptop (XP Home, SP2 applied) on its internal CDRW drive. Setting up the burning process proceeds as normal, allowing me to select a burning speed (from x4 to x32). burning speed x16 chosen (which shouldn't overstress an Athlon 2400 XP-m system with 256 Mb, should it?) SS then spins up the disc in the drive, then does burn data to the CD(R in this case) then announces that the burn has completed succesfully. Unfortunately the disc is entirely unreadable in any machine I have to hand including an ATRAC CD Walkman. I have found it is possible to burn a single track successfully but this is rather expensive in CDRs(!). I can burn successfully to an external APACER STENO 80 USB connected drive. As yet I haven't tried to create an ATRAC or MP3 format disc as I feel the problem is down to driving the internal burner correctly. Burning wasn't possible in SS2.0 either so I uninstalled that last night and upgraded to SS3.3 in the hope that this would cure the problem. Sorry for the long post, I'm trying to give as much information as I can for the knowledgeable ones to chew on. All suggestions gratefully accepted. I'll try a complete uninstall of SS3.3 including clearing the registry and folders. Thanks for your help.Clearing the registry and folders, backing up the music database, then re-installing SS3.3 worked. Thanks for yuor support Stuge Edited December 22, 2005 by chris_caudy
