Jenni
Hello, I got my first MP3 player (NW-HD5) for christmas and am putting my music on to it now I wanted to know if there is any way to 'merge' 2 albums? The reason being that I have lots of CDs with 2 discs, they come over as "Album(disc1)" and "Album(disc2)" but they are essentially just 1 album and I'd like them to be together. KJ_Palmer
Hi. Yes, you can 'merge' 2 albums, by giving them the same name. You can rename the name by highlighting and right clicking an album or pressing F2 in the Album view, or by highlighting individual tracks and changing the album name in the properties dialog. You may also need to click the 'Compilation' box in 'Properties' in the Album view if the albums have different artists. Jenni
Thanks for that It didn't seem to do it if I just changed them in SS, but if I named them the same on import to SS then all was ok Bit odd - one CD album of 2 discs --- SS (or the auto-info thing) names them slightly differently and gives them different genres. eg- "The Best No 1 Singles In The World Ever" (General pop)and " Best No.1 Singles In The World... Ever" (Brit pop)I never did 'get' the whole genres 'thing'!!!
KJ_Palmer
The 'genre' is fairly randomly decided by whoever enters the CD details onto the database in the first place. You can change the genre once the album's loaded into My Library. I almost always do.
Jenni
Can you only change the genre to something else that's pre-defined or can you completely name your own? (eg- putting "Jenni1" as a genre?)
KJ_Palmer
Yes, you can put Jenni1 as a genre and anything else if you like...
