There is no single "best." It depends on how large you want the mic to be and on your budget.

Get a pair of omnidirectional or binaural (different name, same mic) microphones that you can separate--not a one-point stereo mic--with a frequency response of 20-20,000K and, if you're recording loud music, a battery module. Think about how you will be placing them--you'll probably want to get small mics with clips, which will give you very realistic stereo if you separate them by the width of your ears, placing them on your glasses, a hat, etc.

Even the basic Sound Professionals BMC-2 will sound good, and if your budget can take it, the more expensive Audio-Technica-based mics may sound better. All these sites are very helpful if you telephone or e-mail them.
