drivel
Hi,I was wondering if any other mac users experienced crashes when surfing these forums with Safari? I'm using 1.31. It's really not the biggest of deals considering I'm using Firefox more and more. I guess i'm more curious is if this is an incompatability issue or something? *scratches head*

drivel
Hello,Any specifics? Were you doing a certain action, or was it upon loading anything at the site?Well I do tend to open threads I'm interested in reading in new tabs. So multiple tabs are running at the same time. I'm gonna do some tests and test back in a bit... Thanks Edit: Ok it has nothing to do with tabs. I closed all other programs and was only using one window, It seems to be causing a kernel panic Date/Time: 2005-11-23 23:44:25 -0500OS Version: 10.3.9 (Build 7W98)Report Version: 2Command: SafariPath: /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/SafariVersion: 1.3.1 (312.3.1)PID: 1502Thread: 0Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000Thread 0 Crashed:0 <<00000000>> 0x00000000 0 + 01 com.apple.WebCore 0x973f15c0 _ZN16KWQValueListImpl11copyOnWriteEv + 0x3c2 com.apple.WebCore 0x974008cc _ZN16KWQValueListImpl3endEv + 0x203 com.apple.WebCore 0x97400764 _ZNK9KWQSignal4callEv + 0x4c4 com.apple.WebCore 0x97554ef0 _ZN5khtml13HTMLTokenizer16allDataProcessedEv + 0x745 com.apple.WebCore 0x97554e68 _ZN5khtml13HTMLTokenizer10timerEventEP11QTimerEvent + 0x1506 com.apple.WebCore 0x9742a654 -[KWQObjectTimerTarget sendTimerEvent] + 0x547 com.apple.Foundation 0x948cba4c __NSFireTimer + 0x688 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x951d2500 __CFRunLoopDoTimer + 0xf49 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x951cf860 __CFRunLoopRun + 0x5c810 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x951d3d74 CFRunLoopRunSpecific + 0x14811 com.apple.HIToolbox 0x92886e10 RunCurrentEventLoopInMode + 0xac12 com.apple.HIToolbox 0x9288d4b4 ReceiveNextEventCommon + 0xf413 com.apple.HIToolbox 0x928af638 BlockUntilNextEventMatchingListInMode + 0x6014 com.apple.AppKit 0x92e822ac _DPSNextEvent + 0x18015 com.apple.AppKit 0x92e98d2c -[NSApplication nextEventMatchingMask:untilDate:inMode:dequeue:] + 0x7416 com.apple.Safari 0x0000bda0 0x1000 + 0xada017 com.apple.AppKit 0x92ead0ac -[NSApplication run] + 0x21c18 com.apple.AppKit 0x92f697bc NSApplicationMain + 0x1d019 com.apple.Safari 0x00007fc4 0x1000 + 0x6fc420 com.apple.Safari 0x000548ac 0x1000 + 0x538acetc, etc... Christopher
I ran this by Invision (the forum software creators) and they say that you need to update your Mac via the Software Update -- exact quote follows:There were some issues in a select number of versions of Safari crashing when using IPB 2.1 with the new AJAX based features, however Apple resolved these bugs in a recent update - would see if your members can run software update to update their safari installations, this should solve it for them. drivel
I ran this by Invision (the forum software creators) and they say that you need to update your Mac via the Software Update -- exact quote follows:Thanks for looking into this for me and others I'm sure. My software is up to date, but I'm running the older OS 10.3.9 with safari 1.3.1The newer 10.4+ includes safari 2.0. My guess is that apple has stopped fixing any issues with the older safari and anyone with the newer os will not have any issues then. I guess anyone that has an issue viewing these boards on safari should consider using firefox instead. I've pretty much switched over to firefox this past week. Funny thing is it took this issue to do that. It's a good change Thanks for all your help m8
