Surfing MDCF with Safari = Crash

Hi,

I was wondering if any other mac users experienced crashes when surfing these forums with Safari? I'm using 1.31. It's really not the biggest of deals considering I'm using Firefox more and more. I guess i'm more curious is if this is an incompatability issue or something? *scratches head*

Hello,

Any specifics? Were you doing a certain action, or was it upon loading anything at the site?

Well I do tend to open threads I'm interested in reading in new tabs. So multiple tabs are running at the same time. I'm gonna do some tests and test back in a bit... Thanks :)

Edit: Ok it has nothing to do with tabs. I closed all other programs and was only using one window, It seems to be causing a kernel panic

I ran this by Invision (the forum software creators) and they say that you need to update your Mac via the Software Update -- exact quote follows:

There were some issues in a select number of versions of Safari crashing when using IPB 2.1 with the new AJAX based features, however Apple resolved these bugs in a recent update - would see if your members can run software update to update their safari installations, this should solve it for them.

Thanks for looking into this for me and others I'm sure. My software is up to date, but I'm running the older OS 10.3.9 with safari 1.3.1

The newer 10.4+ includes safari 2.0. My guess is that apple has stopped fixing any issues with the older safari and anyone with the newer os will not have any issues then. I guess anyone that has an issue viewing these boards on safari should consider using firefox instead.

I've pretty much switched over to firefox this past week. Funny thing is it took this issue to do that.

It's a good change :D

Thanks for all your help m8 :)
