Background:

US version of WinXP SP2 with US SS3.3

Japanese and other far East languages installed in regional settings

Issues:

1, if file folder / path contains double bytes charactors (i.e. Japanese), SS3.3 will said there is no supported files in dir thus cannot be added to library.

2, if file names or ID3 tags contain Japanese, titles will not be displayed correctly.

I attemped to install the Japanese version of SS3.3, but installion failed.

Is there a way to correct the problems with out using JP version of WinXP? Thanks.

Yeah, I fact I did that before I post on the forum.

I believed the issue at hand is a little different. My SS3.3 just refuse to read or import any file with path names contain Japanese characters. And of course the Japanese version of SS3.3 won't install in the US versio of WinXP either. If this sounds like a rant about needless regional and language localization speration of software... thenI guess it is.

Anyone have a work around?

A simple edit of the installer will enable one to run the installer in an English version of WinXP. I have edited the setup file for SonicStage 3.3 JE Installer for your convenience.

Download it here --> [attachmentid=1202]

Please note: if you wish to import file with path names that contain Japanese characters, you will have to run SonicStage itself in Japanese via Microsoft AppLocale.
