m00k
Hi, I think i have just about tried everythin i can and its really annoyin me, so much i'm considering buyin an mp3 player when i have always loved my mini disc players...basically i cannot record anythin anymore using the pc,i had v1.5 installed of sonicstage and this worked no problems for a long time, then my n10 stopped being recognised by my pc so i then started to use an older mz-n505 but this then no longer became recognised by the software displaying a not connected message, at this point i borrowed a friends mz-n707 and leads etc which displayed the same.I reinstalled the software, and thankfully the players were again recognised at attached to the computer, thinking this was the problem sorted i tried to record on the unit inserting blank discs which showed as blank media...on trying to import the music as playlists it showed up in my library but everytime i try to record it gets to around 9% of the transfer on each song an moves onto the next, then an error message is displayed and it lists all the songs that were to transfer sayin they could not be transferred.Jus downloaded the open mg 3.3 and can't even see a method of recording on mini disc on it, someone please tell me i'm being stupid or doing something wrong?i've even tried burnin images on nero and uploading them using daemon tools to burn with simple md burner but no joy?anyone got ANY ideas?would b very much appreciated and hope that makes sense
A440
There must be junk from 1.5 left in your computer. If you have a big library already in the computer, use the Backup Tool, under Program Files/SonicStage (not in SonicStage itself), to back up your library. Then follow the instructions here to carefully remove what's in the computer now. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8071Next, reinstall SonicStage 3.3, either from Sony's online installer or with the installer in Downloads. http://forums.minidisc.org/downloads/details.php?file=21If that still doesn't work--and it should--try the MDAC repair tool, also in Downloads. http://forums.minidisc.org/downloads/details.php?file=8Once SonicStage recognizes the unit, you should see Transfer options. A440
First, make sure the write-protect tab of the blank disc (bottom left or top right, depending on how you look at it) is closed. Never hurts to check. Second, what music are you trying to import? It may have digital-rights garbage attached that's preventing you from copying it to the disc. You would be able to play it with SonicStage but not move it from your computer. Go to http://www.epitonic.com and download an unprotected .mp3 from some incredibly hip indie band like TV on the Radio. See if you can transfer that. Alternately, install Simple Burner (from Downloads if you don't have a disc), connect the MD, insert a CD and see if that will transfer. A440
Is SonicStage recognizing the player? Do the Transfer options list Hi-MD? Or are you just getting a Windows Explorer window that shows the disc as an outboard drive? Also, look in Settings/Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs and see if you have FFDShow codecs listed. Remove them if you do, and let windows download codecs as you need them.
