skaomatic
Hey all.First post here. Been a lurker for a bit.I've searched all over, and can find tidbits here and there, but I'd really like the straight dope on some stuff. I have an MZ-RH910, and I'm loving it. I'm just not loving the bratty stepchild software.#1. Alternatives. I'm seeing things, here, there, and everywhere. Seems none work on Hi-MD?#2. Sorting. Am I missing something in the software? I just want a regular Artist sort. Album is rediculous when you have 9 GB's of singles. Or even the ability to edit the artist/album titles easily in the software just to find some level of sanity. I can use an ID3 editor for the mp3's, but which does SS recognize, ID31 or 2?I'm really turned off by Sony because of this. I also bought my girlfriend a Network Walkman Player, and she's in the same boat. MD is an outstanding format... I even understand their DRM paranoia.. But do they have to make the software so unusable? Ugh.Thanks, all.Matic

skaomatic
Alternatives? No. We wish.Artist sort: View/ All Tracks/Artist.1. Boo. Nothing even close, huh? Old NetMD RealPlayer halfa$$ type tricks?2. Guess I wasn't clear. It goes further and groups the tracks by Album on the MD... Makes perfect sense if you're CD->MD. How can I group all of "Artist A", followed by "Artist B" instead of "Artist A, Album 1" etc, short of custom playlisting every time I transfer? Also still looking for a less convoluted way to edit ID3 info. Thanks for the response, A440.
