bigtallrichb
Mostly been a lurker but have appreciated advice in the past and now *think* I have found a little tip that could be of big help to y'all. It is a variation on advice seen elsewhere on this forum in the past - but I think goes a bit further - and is proving to be a big time saver for me!The problem: Whenever you import compilation albums (or indeed any albums with diff. artist names in track details) to sonicstage it thinks each track is an album in its own right. The old solution:You had to manually right click on EACH track and check the "compilation" box and sonicstage would reluctantly group tracks together as a compilation album one by one.The new solution:- set my library to View/All tracks- select Search/(by) Album- Type in first few letters of Album name - You should now have all tracks from the album nicely together on the screen- AND sonicstage now allows you to select all tracks (click top one, then hold down shift and click bottom track to select all), then right click- You now have a different dialogue box! Check the box "Tracks in the compilation albums" (sic)- You now have a properly grouped compilation album- unfortunately this album is now listed under the name of the first artist of the album- However this artist name can be changed to Various artists back in the normal SS viewsHope that is helpful to others! Its certainly a big help to me.
