titch_the_clown
In terms of work arounds and things I had to fixI had to point the microphone recorded file to my desktop because SS insisted that any other part of my hard drive (eg My music) either "does not exist or Sonic stage does not have access" , even though it was happy to rip CDs to the my music directory. I have heard other people have had similar problems. When I burned an "Atrac CD" to stick in my car stereo SS disabled the windows "drag and drop" to CD functionality and forgot to turn it back on when it was finished. All you have to do is right button on the CD drive in windows explorer pick properties and turn it back on. Didn't help that windows gives the message "device not functioning" and HP help didn't give you the option of- it reads and plays everything in sight but won't let you write files to it.I spent about 4 hours in total trying to fix these problems - reloading hardware drivers - attempting to reload sonic stage 2.3, etc I hope these workarounds help you.I have other complaints about things it does but I have heard enough bitchin- eg It takes forever to download - not much we can do about that except get Sony to for example not bother downloading directx if you already have it. LOL I need a computer that understands that every time software companies try to load directx AGAIN!!! that it does not need to. Sadly Sony is not the only culprit. That would save 15 minutes for those of us on dial up. Edited January 13, 2006 by titch_the_clown
