thhu
Im having two problems with uploading/ conveting to .wav my line-in recorded files with sonicstage 3.3. The firt one is i cant convert one file that i uploaded from my hi-md. It is, enfact a very long file but can this be the problem? why cant I convert it?The second problem is: i cant upload files that I had already uploaded with an old version of sonicstage and deleted, cause without the converter i had no use for it. does sonic stage upload each file just once? Can I bypass it?Thank you in advance
A440
Converting a long file to .wav takes a lot of resources. First, do you have free space on your disc and in memory? Try shutting off every program you don't need for the moment. Disconnect from the internet, shut off browsers, security apps, music players, everything you can, and try again. Press CTRL-ALT-DEL once (not twice!) to pop up Task Manager. It might not work. If you uploaded it with 3.3, then you could try inserting a track mark and uploading it again as two smaller files. With 3.3 you can upload repeatedly. Files that were uploaded with older versions of SonicStage were marked as uploaded and that was your only chance. Don't try it again, because it might wipe them off the disc. Your best bet for high fidelity with those tracks is to put the disc in the recorder, connect with USB, play back through the computer with SonicStage and use TotalRecorder to capture the digital signal (in realtime) as detailed here. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=6330
raintheory
You could also try MarC's HiMD Renderer... I use it more often than the built-in wav converter. Plus it is the only way to convert digital/optically recorded material to WAV.See this thread: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=6087

Are you certain you have sufficient disc space to export the track? I have successfully exported tracks in excess of 1GB in length [from HiSP sources, they being less than 1GB of course]. If you uploaded the tracks with a version of SS previous to 3.2, you will not be able to upload them again using any version of SS. Despite what some users have said about using HiMDRenderer, it will not help in this case as HiMD tracks have to be in your active SS database [i.e. already uploaded] to be converted with it. There are alternate methods of copying the audio from those discs, though. Please refer to the HiMD uploading FAQ for info on analogue and digital copying methods, using Total Recorder for example. thhu
Thank you for all your answers, they were very useful. So, if i dont use total recorder or an analog recorder this tracks will be stuck in my md? I mean, how do ss recognize the already uploaded tracks? can´t I erase the data? I mean, how do ss recognize the already uploaded tracks? can´t I erase the data? The DRM info is carried on the disc itself; when you uploaded the tracks the first time with an older version of SS, it automatically changed the info about the tracks on their original disc to say "I've been uploaded, don't allow me to be uploaded again."At this point in time, Sony's DRM is uncracked, so no, you can't change or simply erase that data.
