Smafie
Hello guys..I have a question about the Sony ECM-DS70P mic and 'Plug in Power'. It may seem like a stupid point but bear with me ..As i understand it Plug in Power is varies from 1.5v to 10v, but can anyone tell me if this mic was used in a Phantom Power connection, ie 48v, would it work or simply blow it up!! I normally use it with the MZ NH900 for field work but wondered if i could adapt it for my bigger Tascam unit.ThanksSteve.
Roamer
This mic is not designed for phantom power, so i guess you would end up with a fried mic ...The technical specification should tell you when a mic support phantom power (and not many support both phantom and 9V).EDIT : Read also this threadhttp://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=14188 Edited February 12, 2006 by Roamer
Smafie
Hey thanks.I kinda thought that would be answer somehow, but just didn't know the technical aspects of phantom power and plug in power, even though one's instinct suggests that something 4 times the voltage is not exactly healthy!!Guess i'd better start saving for a new mic then, for the Tascam i mean..CheersSteve.
