trastnou1
i have been trying for the last 2 hours to try and record a minidisc from my mac which runs 10.3.9. i have been trying to use itunes which for some reason won't accept my 3 second mp3 between songs so the mini disc has tracks. i have 3 different minisdisc recorders i have been trying. a sony mz-r900, sharp ms722 and a sharp ms702 all will play a disc. on the sony i get no signal, 722 a din unlock message and the other sharp i dont get a message. my computer sees the usb connection from the md port dg1 or the dg2 ( i have tried both) but i can't get any of them to record. can someone please give me some help as to why this is happening. thanks
A440
Don't let the USB connection fool you. The only software that transfers music from mp3 to minidisc--which with your units means that the mp3s have to be converted to ATRAC, the format the minidisc units play--is SonicStage, which only runs on PC. The only way to get mp3s from your Mac onto a minidisc is to record them in realtime as your computer plays them back. Sony has only recently offered any software/hardware that supports Mac with the MZ-M10 and MZ-M100 units. But all they will do is upload their PCM recordings to the Mac--you still can't download mp3s to them. Your units are NetMD units, which means they are PC-compatible only.http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=10493 Edited February 26, 2006 by A440
