Question

Hello,

Can anyone shed some light on what kind of a cpu core is used to control the user interface and the audio playback on the NW-HD? line of players ? I searched for a while but I couldn't come up with an definitive answer. I red about the CXR704060 microchip and the datasheet talks about ARM core but it is not clear whether this chip is used in the NW-HD? players.

Thanks!

Welcome to ALC!

I believe all the current NW-HDx series still employ the same CXR704060 module. Please read this thread - Sony Virtual Mobile Engine (VME): The Secret of the Network Walkman's Stamina further.
