Lost Recording TOC

I have a Sony MZ-N707 that I was editing a recording that I made this evening. Everything was complete, and I was happy with the way things turned out (I was just getting rid of dead-air in the recording). I pressed "stop" after listening to a bit, let the TOC write, then ejected the disc. When I put it back in, I get "BLANK DISC".

I write protected the disc immediately. Now my question is, what can I do to fix this? I've read about the recovery procedures, and although I consider myself fairly technical, I don't want to lose this recording.

Thanks in advance -- I'm thinking it's time for a new recorder. grrr.
