i'm having a problem playing some of my oma files w/ sonic stage (i'm using v3.4). The little music icon that is to the left of the song title in sonic stage that is usually blue is now black and when i click on the song to play it i get this messages saying that i need to download the license and its ask if i want to download it and when i click yes i get this werid error message. i've tried converting the file with himdrenderer and it won't even let me do that. i don't know what elese to do. i have no clue as to why some of the transfered oma files work and and some don't. at first i thought maybe the oma files have expiration dates or something but that realized that was not the problem because some files that i transfered a week ago don't work and files that i transfered a month ago do work. it doesn't make any sense really. <_<

The OMA file you cant play are encrypted.

Where did these files come from? If you have reloaded your PC or moved them from another then they were originaly recorded with encryption set on and the key has now been lost so you will not be able to decrypt them.

Only choice is to re-copy them from the original source but this time without encryption (remember to un-check the box)

Because you reloaded your computer, SonicStage now thinks it is on someone else's computer who is trying to pirate your encrypted files. Say goodbye to them.

Yes, this is stupid and annoying or worse. It's a system that should have never been imposed.

In future, even if you don't encrypt your newly ripped files, use the Backup Tool (under Prgram Files/SonicStage, not with SonicStage open) to backup your library before you do anything drastic with your computer. Then SS will know the backed-up files are still yours and unlock them.
