Need to initialize disc, but I keep getting an error message

Hello,

I've been using my MD Walkman MZ-NH600D for a long time now and had only had minor problems before now. However, last time, when I was transferring a song onto my device, SonicStage 3.4 froze and I had to restart my computer after waiting several minutes. Now, on my Hi-MD, when I try to play songs, the words and everything including the disc in the corner of the screen and battery bar start flashing non-stop, the buttons don't work properly (ie: I'll try to increase the volume, but instead it will take me to the Group menu) and it keeps performing actions that I do not specify (ie: it will take me to my menu screen and random things will start happening. When I turn on the hold button, it appears to be attempting to do the same, as the word HOLD flashes repeatedly.). I tried to open SonicStage to delete the song, however, the message I get in the transfer area is:

"Cannot use this disc as an audio disc because it was initialized by a program other than SonicStage.

Click Properties on the Device/Media panel and initialize the disc to use it as an audio disc."

I was slightly irked that it was trying to erase everything, but I suppose if I must, I shall, since I just want my device working again! I tried to initialize it via SonicStage, and got this message:

"Initialization of the media failed.

(Error Code: 000662e)"

Thank you in advance.
