MiniDisc plays in walkman fine, but not headunit?

Hello, Sorry if this is a repeat post or an untimate nub question, but after hours of endless research I can't seem to get an answer.

Maybe you can help?

I bought an mdx c6500x headunit which plays the radio fine, and will tell me "no data" when I insert a blank mini disc

So my friend gave me his old MZ-N510 Type-S walkman.

I installed sonic stage, transferred some audio files in all three modes they provide under options, and all left my headunit saying "error"

The discs play perfectly fine in the walkman however?

Is it just the headunit, is there some other method I need to use?

Help me please!

Thanks, Mike Ruggles

If it's a very old headunit, then it probably only plays in the original minidisc format: SP.

Minidiscs recorded in LP2 or LP4 (or Hi-MD formats) won't work.

Test it by recording a CD to the MZ-N510 with Simple Burner set to output SP. If that doesn't work, maybe the headunit just isn't working.
