Fernando22
Hello ladies and gentlemen of the Minidisc Community Forums. My friend and I are hoping that you can help us out a bit.My old songwriting partner find ourselves seperated by about 1600 miles and have been itching to get back into musical collaboration. We're considering buying minidisc player/recorders and using them to ship song ideas back and forth, either by electronic or snail mail. Here's what we'd like:*A Minidisc player that interfaces with a PC, preferably by USB;*A Minidisc player with a microphone input and recording capabilities (does not have to be super high-fidelity);**PIPE DREAM** An MD player that I can plug my acoustic/electric guitar directly into.I wish I could say that price is no object, but the device can't be too terribly expensive. Used and Ebay are perfectly acceptable.Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to read this and give their advice. raintheory
Definitely HiMD. So you can upload the recordings to PC.Any HiMD witha mic-in... I would recommend possibly one of the first-gen units, you should be able to find a few on eBay. Maybe look into the MZ-NH700 ( http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-NH700.html ). You should be able to find one decently priced. If you have an adapter to go from 1/4in to 1/8in you can plug your acoustic/electric into the unit via line-in. I have done this many times. jaylen
There are a few eBay sellers (not sure of your location, but these US sellers also ship international) that have the NH700 in "blue" or silver, brand-new in box, for US$125 including shipping (if you're US; I don't know about international). If you participate in their auctions, you can get it for a little less than that.Edit: And if you want to "upgrade," they also sell the NHF800 and NH900, new in box.
