Rode NT4 to Line In?

A question for the smarter types

I'm looking at purchasing a Rode NT4 for live band recording with my MZ NHF800.

Basic mic specs are

Acoustic Principle: Stereo Microphone. 90Á XY placement

Active Electronics: JFET Impedance converter with bipolar output buffer

Output Impedance: 200per side

Sensitivity: -38 dB re 1v/Pa ± 2 dB equivalent to 12mV/Pa where 1 Pa = 94dBSPL

Equivalent Noise: <16 dBSPL, (A-weighted per IEC268-15)

Maximum Output: +13.9 dBu @ 1% THD into 1k ohm

Dynamic Range: >128 dB

Maximum SPL: 143 dB @ 1% THD into 1k ohm

Signal/Noise Ratio: 78dB

How does the comment in the manuals about minimum input level of 49 mV (is this RMS or peak) for line input come into play?

Should this mic be put straight into "Line In"?

By my book 49mV equals about 106dB on this mic.

Intention is to run this mic off the internal 9V battery.

Do I have to worry about anything at all or is this just some DC level and meaningless?

Any assistance in explaining this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

GT

If you take the advice there not to use the supplied minijack cable and to make up you own, I'll repeat a suggestion I've made before (how can one repeat a suggestion that one has not made before?!) - buy a premade cable with minijack on one end to two phonos on the other end(s). Chop off the phonos and replace with XLRs. Soldering two cables into a little minijack is a real pain, but working with XLRs is pretty straightforward (and here at least you can get perfectly good solderless ones).

I've been using the NT-4 for some time now and have always used it with the mic-in (power source: internal 9V battery). I did try the line-in, but the restults were rather disappointing, while the results with the mic-in are very good (in my opinion, at least).
