no_alibi
Can anyone please tell me what the purpose of the My Library Transfer button is in Sonic Stage (versions 3.x). That's the red arrow which points from right to left (from the Track list on the Unit to the track list in My Library).Logically, I would imagine it would be used to transfer from the Unit to My Library. This doesn't seem to be the case however:1. If I try to use it to transfer files from the unit to my second computer, it won't allow me to. I understand this is a DRM issue. Fine. This has been discussed elsewhere on the forums.2. However, if I've completely deleted music from My Library, it won't let me transfer the music back there, as it tells me the track does not exist in My Library.3. Finally, if I delete the track, but keep the track name in My Library, and click the button, the track gets *removed* from the unit... but doesn't seem to go anywhere. It certainly doesn't go back into My Library.SonicStage Help says that this button "transfers tracks from the device/media back to My Library". But as far as I can tell, this transfer will only work if the track is already in My Library! So what is the point of it!!!!???Am I missing something obvious? KJ_Palmer
The Transfer to My Library button can be used by Hi-MD recorders to transfer analogue (mic/line in) recordings from Hi-MD discs to the PC. Otherwise (for other Sony devices) it can be used as a shorthand for removing tracks or albums from the device. It also decreases the no. of times 'transferred' count if the tracks still exist in My library. This obviously doesn't matter anymore, but used to for NetMD devices which used to have a limit of 3 transfers per track, so you had to 'transfer' them back off the MD before you could put them on another disc (if the count was over 3)...
