Question about the RH1

After almost 10 years I have ordered a new minidisc player (the mz-rh1). I bought one of the first models back when minidisc was relatively new (I think one or two years old) and was always very happy about it, back then I was younger though and electronics didn't have a great halflife in my hands so eventually it broke down.

Since then I've gone through a couple of different players, most recently the now 'old' (and unsupported) sony vaio pocket(ap1l) which I still like though I always favored the 'cool' minidiscs (I'm not sure if you guys still notice but the little discs in the plastic case always had a great look to me, I don't understand how it didn't hit big but then sometimes the best things go by unnoticed by 'the public') and since even the 40 gb hd in the vaio pocket is filling up as my cd collection has become somewhat bulky I figured Hd players will keep giving me shortages in space.

I can't wait for my rh1 to arrive though I do have a small concern about possible limitations.

As I'm from Europe I've read (http://www.mdcenter.nl/redirect.php?file=http://www.mdcenter.nl/artikelen/mzrh1/index_en.php) that according to european law the volume settings have to be restricted, I've also read in several threads on several fora that there have been 'hacks' to discard this limitation in previous models (rh10 for example). I'm wondering if anyone knows if this limitation is indeed in effect and if so if a similar hack is planned to be made for the rh1. I would greatly appriciate someone shedding some light on this for me, thanks.

There's a link here which discusses more about the RH1 and volume etc...
