VanJay011379
Hi,Is there any way to copy the left channel of a mono recording to the right side on a NetMD disc?I recorded a couple of shows with a mono microphone and I would like to copy the left speaker to the right side so I can listen in stereo (kinda). Any solutions?Cheers,Chris
raintheory
For NetMD I'm not sure if there would be a very efficient way to do this... One possibility (that might work) would be to get a 1/8in MONO to 1/8in STEREO adapter. That way the MONO signal would (in theory) come through both speakers instead of just the left.Something that would look like this:Where the male part of the plug is MONO and the female is STEREO.---This of course wouldn't actually change the discs at all, but you would be able to listen to them in stereo. Again, in theory. At least you should be able to find the said adapter for quite cheap I would imagine.

raintheory
I actually recorded these with a NetMD but now have a Sony MZ-NH700.Even with the MZ-NH700, there would be no way to transfer the tracks digitally to PC (you can transfer recordings done on the NH700 though, as long as they are recorded in a HiMD format). If you want to record the tracks in realtime to PC you can do so and then use Audacity or any other sound editing program to copy the left channel over. The only problems would be that you would have to transcode the file to get it back to your MiniDisc. Also it would be an analogue connection anyway. If you have any plans to get the MZ-RH1, you would then be able to upload your legacy recordings, but aside from that unit no others will upload legacy recordings.EDIT: If you still have the NetMD, and don't mind some slight quality loss, you could just use your NH700 to playback the old disc, and then set up your NetMD to record in MONO and run a line from the headphone-out on the NH700 to the line-in on the NetMD. It would be real-time though, but should record it to both channels as long as the NetMD is recording in MONO. Chances are you won't actually notice any quality loss (it might actually sound better since its coming from both speakers).
