Sonicstage Newbie: Default locations for library

Hi,

I'm new to Sonicstage, infact I don't use it myself but a friend of mine does. He needed to free up space on his main hard drive so purchased an external HD and asked me to install it (he is not technically minded!). I tried to locate in the preferences for Sonicstage the option for changing where the library is located on the hard drive as I moved his Sonicstage folder from his C: drive to the new external drive and broke the link.

Could someone tell me how I can get SS to point to the new location on the E: drive, and what the directory address should be so that music is transferred there and played from there.

Mnay thanks,

Colin

Hi,

thanks for the reply thats a great help. Just wondering if the directory path shown is complete or if there is more beyond that can be seen in the image. Is there a backup folder that SS uses aswell?

Cheers once again.

Colin

Welcome,.

First of all you may want to get the latest version of SonicStage (version 4) if you don't already have it installed.

Then, go to Tools/Options, and its under "Location to save imported files".

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\SonicStage\Packages & C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\SonicStage\Content

are the full directories for the screen shown in the image.

The location for temporary files should be the default location, i.e. C:\Documents and Settings\"User"\Local Settings\Temp, however that can be changed from the options as well
