laoconnell
Hi, All,Just got the fabulous MZ-RH! (my first minidisc player) and recorded a concert; played back about a quarter of it, then stopped the machine. When I tried to play the rest, I got an "End" message. Two levels of Sony techs couldn't figure it out this morning on the phone, so they recommended I go to y'all for recourse.I'm sure it's just something little that I am too ignorant to know about, but it's frustrating! I push the Ent button on both remote and machine itself, and get the End message as well as what must be the remaining minutes left for recording; then it goes dark. Even when I hold it down. I've removed the disc and put it back in, tried the rewind and forward buttons on the remote, all to no avail. Any ideas? Sound Pros are closed till Wednesday and I can't wait to hear the recording! Thanks in advance!HB
raintheory
Have you tried uploading the recording via SonicStage or the Mac music transfer?
laoconnell
Nope, haven't even gotten that far. I'm just trying to play the disc in the machine itself; shouldn't it be able to play its own discs back?I'm going to try to install the Mac software now. I do think it's odd. I was just mentioning the uploading because if the software doesn't see the track on the disc then maybe something happened to the track or disc toc. laoconnell
Just did, and it worked fine uploading it to my Mac! Curiouser and curiouser... still just says "End" when I try to play back on the MZ-RH1 itself.Since Sony didn't know what was up I guess I'll just have to wait till Wednesday when SoundPros get back in the office. raintheory
Try this once...Disconnect the power, and take the battery out. Leave the unit sit for a few minutes and then put the battery back in. Try playing the disc then. Also you may want to try rewinding without the remote attached and see if it does anything differently. When the unit displays "END" you should be able to push the jog lever thing towards FR and it will either skip back a track (or to the beginning) if you press it and then release, or alternately if you've pressed play/enter first and then hold the jog lever in that position it should rewind the track starting from the end.
