I am a long time user of mdlp minidiscs. I am looking to purchase a newer HiMd model that is backward compatiable with my je-620 deck and mz-e55 player. Currently considering the mz-nh900. I am also a trustee of the library and we have a unique program to checkout music and audiobooks online.

These are downloaded as wma's. Can sonic stage (I have never used sony's software) convert the wma to atrac3 for use on md at faster than realtime, since there is drm issues?

(I realize this is about ipod's but there are links that describe the problem in detail)

Would anyone be willing to try downloading an audiobook to check for usability and compatability issues? Not only for myself but for the list of known working devices?

Thank you in advance for all your help

Heath

You can try it yourself. You can download Sonic Stage for free (from this forum, or direct from Sony). The software doesn't require an MD unit to be connected to import music and convert it to ATRAC.
